Acquisition of plant viruses has different effects on physiological processes in vector insects and its endosymbionts. Bemisia rabact is the only known vector of tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV). In this study we aimed at studying gene expression profile of the non viruliferous and visuliferous whiteflies reared on TYLCV in sugar solution. We used the differential display RT - PCR method to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) that may contribute in virus transmission via whitefly. A total of 142 DEGs were identified but only 88 fragments were sequenced. BLAST (basic local alignment search tool) searches revealed 28 fragments of significant homology with known genes that have essential role in the biological process, cell structure and molecular functions of the insect
