<br/><br/> This cross-sectional study enrolled 40 JSLE patients and 25 age and sex matched controls. All were examined by 2D and 3D echocardiography to detect any left atrial or ventricular changes.SLEDAI-2K and damage index were assessed in all patients. Some degree of impairment of left atrial and left ventricular functions were detected in patients compared to controls. Area strain was significantly affected in patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms.3D Echocardiographic examination in JSLE patients specially those with neuropsychiatric symptoms is recommended for detection of subtle myocardial changes
