Prepartum milking and increasing milking frequency in early lactation were studied as they potentially beneficial to increase milk yield and milk components yield. On the other hand, the local effect of different milking schemes was also investigated by adopting unilateral milking scheme. The results showed that both prepartum milking and increasing milking frequency in early lactation have a positive effect on both colostrum and milk yield and milk component yield without any negative effect on buffalo general health or udder hygiene
