In this thesis, we proposed a device and service discovery system, called 6LoWDIS for 6LoWPAN. We designed the 6LoWDIS protocol in which supports a lightweight message exchange scheme, allows a simple implementation, and has a small memory footprint. 6LoWDIS performance is highly dependent on the underlying multicast-forwarding scheme used in 6LoWPAN. Thus, we proposed a new multicast-forwarding scheme, called ESMRF. ESMRF is an enhanced version of the previous work: SMRF. ESMRF lets the lower nodes be able to send multicast traffic upward like downward the RPL tree
