Juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus (JSLE) is a multi-system autoimmune disease associated with formation of auto-antibodies. Higher serum ferritin levels have been observed in inflammatory conditions as SO JIA & MAS. This study assesses its use as a marker of disease activity & lupus nephritis in JSLE. This is a cross-sectional study conducted on 48 JSLE patients and 43 healthy controls. Serum ferritin level was measured using ELISA technique. Our results showed that serum ferritin is significantly higher in JSLE patients compared with controls. Also, it has positive correlation with SLEDAI-2K, renal SLEDAI,SLICC renal activity score, C3 and anti ds DNA level. Therefore, serum ferritin can be used as a marker for disease activity& renal activity
