Among the difficulties in treating HCV is its high degree of genetic diversity with seven divergent genotypes identified each with many subtypes that respond differently to treatment. The HCV genome undergoes translation into eleven different structural and non-structural proteins. The non-structural proteins are responsible for viral replication and so represent important drug targets. However, direct-acting antivirals suffer from several setbacks and drugs targeting other HCV proteins may be useful for a more effective treatment UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
