Background : memory impairment is a major concern for TLE patients . diffusion tensor imaging ( DTI ) is used to assess white matter tracts integrity and its relation to memory in TLE . Objective : to assess memory performance in TLE , white matter integrity by DTI and then correlate both of them with each other and with seizure related variables . Subjects and methods : A 30 patients ( 18 LT TLE , 12 RT TLE ) and 20 controls underwent memory assessment and studied with DTI ( fractional anisotropy ( F A ) and apparent diffusion coefficient ( ADC ) FOR 6 tracts ; parahippocampal cingulum ( PHC ) , superior and inferior longitudinal fasciculus ( SLF ,ILF ) , uncinate fasciculus ( UF ) , fornix ( FORX ) , corpus callosum ( CC )
