Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the Modified periosteal releasing incision to the Periosteal releasing incision in partially edentulous patients undergoing guided bone regeneration using titanium mesh in terms of the extent of flap advancement, frequency of postoperative membrane exposure as well as the level of patient discomfort regarding postoperative pain, and postoperative swelling attained by each technique Materials and methods: A total sample size of 12 (6 in each of the 2 groups) will be sufficient to detect this difference with a power of 80%, and a significance level of 5%. To account for patient loss to follow-up (attrition), a sample size of 14 patients was selected and divided into two groups, 7 each; Group A (Test): Flap advancement using the Modified Periosteal Releasing Incision Group B (Control): Flap advancement using the Periosteal Releasing Incision Results: In our study, statistical comparison revealed no significant difference upon comparison between the groups regarding all the sides of flap advancement. The total flap advancement was also not significantly different between the groups
