Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) also known as hyaline membrane disease , is a condition of increasing respiratory distress , commencing at , or shortly after , birth and increases in severity until progressive resolution among the survivors , usually between the 2nd and 4th day ( Fanaroff et al., 2007 ) RDS is a common clinical disease that results from the deficiency of alveolar surfactant along with the structural immaturity of the kungs in preterm infants. mechanical ventilation ( M V ) remains an essential and life-saving technique to care for preterm infants with RDS ( Sweet al., 2013 )
