Introduction: NAFLD has become an emerging public health concern, most NAFLD patients do not present specific symptoms, particularly at the early stage, which hinders prevention and early detection.Simple clinical algorithms including fatty liver index (FLI) and lipid accumulation product (LAP) have been developed as surrogate markers for NAFLD, diagnosed using ultrasonography. Objectives: This study aimed to validate FLI and LAP as measures of hepatic steatosis, and compare between FLI & LAP in predicting NAFLD in primary health care (PHC). Methods: This is a comparative study, data were collected from 227 participants aged 18-65 years who attended family medicine clinic (medical center) in Sherbin city- Dakahliyah governorate - Egypt. All participants{u2019} socioeconomic, anthropometric and blood metabolic indices were obtained, and food frequency questionnaires, physical activity questionnaire were completed. Liver fat was investigated using ultrasonography, FLI&LAP were calculated and compared with ultrasound findings
