Emotional intelligence is proposed as an important predictor of key organizational outcomes including job satisfaction. Aim: the current study assesses the relationship between head nurses emotional intelligence and staff nurses' job satisfaction. Design A descriptive correlational design was utilized.Setting: The current study was conducted in inpatient departments at New Kasr EL-Aini Teaching Hospital at Cairo University. Subjects: Study sample composed of two groups as follows first group a convenient head nurses who were working in inpatient departments at New Kaser EL-Aini Teaching Hospital; their number was (30). The second group was all staff nurses in the same departments; their number was (350) staff nurse.Tools: Data was collected by using two tools: The first tool was emotional intelligence questionnaire and the second tool was job satisfaction questionnaire. Results: There was a high level of emotional intelligence among head nurses with a mean percent (84.5%) as well as there was a moderate level of job satisfaction among staff nurses with a mean percent (65.7%).
