Thestudy is a small retrospective study of the incidence of anaerobic Surgical Site Infection among post operative patients in NCI-Cairo. The current study included 38 post operative patients during the period 12\2014 to 8/2015 , from the urology, gynecological, and abdominal surgical departments.Their age range from 30 to 80 years..twenty of them were males and 18 were females. Fourteen of them were from the GIT surgical department, 13 were from the urology department, and 11 were from gynecological department.The demographic and clinical data of the patients were collected also the clinical specimens were collected, transported and cultivated according to the NCI-infection control team protocol. The total data were collected and analyzed. The results of the current study did not show any specimen with anaerobic organisms and all the cultures showed aerobic bacteria as follows: E.coli: 16 samples.Klebsiella Pneumoniae: 8 samples.Coagulase negative Staph: 6 samples.Acinebacter Baumanni :one sample.Staph Hemolyticus: one sample. Staph Epidermidis: one sample. Non HemolyticusStrept: one sample.Enterobacter sp: one sample.Staph Aureus : one sample.Gram positive Cocci: one sample
