Material and Methods: Prospective observational study involving 10 eyes; 5 eyes by femto assisted keratoplasty FAK (top hat technique) and the other 5 eyes by conventional trephination method. Main outcomes are histological findings at the cut edge of the donor corneal graft tissue (at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o{u201F}clock). Results: In femto assisted trephined corneas (FAK), cellular and ultra-cellular changes in the form of marked edema, disruption and disorganization of the collagen fibers, and nuclear changes were more pronounced as compared to conventional PK. In addition, a band of debris with disrupted collagen fibers extending from the anterior to posterior stroma was evident in the corneal stromal layer, compared to very little stromal edema with mechanical trephination UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
