<br/><br/> Flower and foliage plants are some of the most colorful and attractive horticultural plantsSome are used to decorate the rooms in our homes while others are used to beautify the areas around our homes and public buildingsThe preservative solution extended vase life and inhibited flower senescence , water content was significantly increased when cut flowers were held in preservative solution compared with those in deionized water , tissue pH gradually increased in petals of rose and stems during senescenceTissue pH of flowers of rose held in deionized water was grater than that of those held in preservative solution , increased tissue pH caused rapid blueing and yellowing of petals of rose (Kim and Lee , 2002)
