Subject(s): Online resources: Available additional physical forms:
  • Issued also as CD
Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Biophysics Summary: The present work studies the diagnosis possibility of two fatal cancer types (liver and pancreatic) in their early stages using the fluorescence spectroscopy. The main purpose of this research work is to obtain more information about the fluorescence spectroscopy of endogenous fluorophores present in blood component of patients suffering from these types of cancers, where the values of the parameters for FES (Aex) and SES (xn) are chosen to provide statistical difference between normal subjects and cancer patient for distinct discrimination. From the different fluorescence intensity ratio parameters studied, two ratios of higher significance can be used to discriminate cancer patients from normal subjects
