Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Physical Therapy - Department of Physical Therapy for Cardiopulmonary and Geriatrics Disorders Summary: Background: The purpose of this study was to compare between the effect of CRYO lipolysis and cold laser on body composition and lipid profile in women with central obesity. Methods: Sixty women patients with central obesity their ages ranged from 35 to 45 years old they were chosen from outpatient clinic of ALMABARA hospital in Mit-Ghamr. Dakahlia. their BMI was between 30 kg/m2 to 39.9 kg\m2 considered class1 and class11 obesity with dyslipidemia with waist circumference more than 88 cm.This study lasted 12 weeks the measures (lipid profile, body composition and waist circumference) evaluated 2 times pre study and after 12 weeks at the end of the study .they were assigned into two groups equal in number Group A: 30 patients received Cryo lipolysis on the abdomen for 35 to 45 minutes (1 session every 3 weeks) Group B: 30 patients received cold laser on the abdomen for 35 to 45 minutes (2 sessions\week)Results: Statistical analysis revealed that CRYO lipolysis (group A) and cold laser (group B) had significant decrease on (cholesterol 8.59% in group A, 7.8% in group B; triglycerides 9.08% in group A, 18% in group B; waist circumference 7,28% in group A, 9,38% in group B; abdominal fat 10.7% in group A, 4.25 % in group B; and water content 2.7% in group A, 2.1% in group B). significant increase on (high density lipoprotein HDL-C 9.97% in group A ,10.2% in group B) with no significant difference between groups. Conclusion: Cryolipolysis and cold laser improve lipid profile and body composition as well as decrease of the waist circumference in women with abdominal obesity
