Objective : The present study was performed to evaluate the effect of intraurethral installation(TRUIS) of vasoactive drugs (prostaglandins and prazosin) as alternative to intracorporeal therapy (ICI) in erectile dysfunction.Patients: 40 male patients with erectile dysfunction. Tools: Duplex imaging, clinical assessment. Results: There was statistically significant difference between the ICI therapy and TRUIS therapy regarding both clinical response and duplex imaging. Negative correlation between ICI and TRUIS regarding the response guided by duplex and the patient's age, partner's age and the duration of ED. However, there was statistically significant positive correlation between the ICI and TRUS regarding the duplex response. Conclusion: TRUIS may be a promising alternative therapy of choice in treatment of erectile dysfunction that is less invasive and less painful than the ICI, however it appears clinically to be not as effective as ICI therapy in producing a rigid, sustained erection suitable for intercourse in the majority of patients with erectile dysfunction
