Obesity has been identified with an expanded danger of a progression of illnesses that include different organ-frameworks of the body. In the present examination, we evaluated the hypolipidemic properties of Echinochrome (Ech) pigment in a high-fat diet (HFD) induced hyperlipidemia in rats. After the hyperlipidemic model was set up, rats were haphazardly separated into four groups as follows: HFD group, Atorvastatin (Ator) group (80 mg/kg), Ech group (1 mg/ kg) and combined group Ator + Ech. In the current study, we investigated the hypolipidemic properties of Ech through testing lipid profile includes serum levels of total lipids (TL), triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), liver functions (AST & ALT), kidney functions (creatinine, urea, and uric acid) and muscle dysfunction marker (creatine kinase; CK) as well as antioxidant markers (MDA, GSH, GST, CAT) in liver, kidney and muscle tissues besides, histo-pathologically studies. The outcomes demonstrated that Ech improved lipid profile, liver functions, kidney functions, and antioxidant markers of HFD rats. The current biochemical results have been confirmed by the histopathological findings. The present investigation indicated that the Ech possesses hypolipidemic potential in hyperlipidemic rat
