تلقي هذه الدراسة الضوء على الصور البيانية التي وردت في مسرحيتي "ميديا" لدى شاعرين عاشا في فترتين زمنيتين مختلفتين، وفي ظروف سياسية متباينة؛ فالشاعر الأول هو يوريبيديس، الذي عاش في أثينا إبان حكم الديموقراطية، وتأثير السوفسطائيين في كل المثقفين في ذلك العصر. أما الشاعر الآخر فهو سنيكا، ذلك الشاعر الروماني الذي عاش في ظل الاستبداد السياسي للإمبراطور نيرون، كما أنه من مفكري عصره، فهو ينشر مذهبه الرواقي عبر مسرحياته ذات القصص الأسطورية، فهو يوظف الأسطورة في النقد السياسي من ناحية، وفي نشر التعاليم الرواقية من ناحية أخرى. لا شك أن الشاعرين يعالجان الأسطورة ذاتها، والمشاهد نفسها، بيد أن كل منهما قد عالجها من خلال وجهة نظره، وظروف عصره، وآرائه ومعتقداته الفلسفية. ولذلك ستتناول هذه الدراسة تحليل مسرحيتي "ميديا" للشاعرين في ضوء علم البيان ومن خلال دراسة الصور البيانية في كلا المسرحيتين.

This study sheds light on Latin figures of speech mentioned in the two plays "Madea" by two poets who lived in two different periods, and in different political circumstances. The first poet was Euripides, who lived in Athens during the rule of Democracy, and the influence of Sophists on all intellectuals of that era. The other poet was Seneca, the Roman poet who lived under the political tyranny of the emperor Nero. He was also one of the thinkers of his time. He was aware to spread his Stoic doctrines through his mythical plays; he used myth in political criticism on the hand, and spreading Stoic doctrine on the other hand. There is no doubt that the two poets deal with the same myth and the same scenes, but each of them dealt with it through his point of view, the circumstances of his time, and his philosophical opinions and beliefs. Therefore, this study intends to analyze the two plays "Madea" by the poets in the light of rhetoric and the figures of speech in both of them.
