تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى مقارنة مفهوم الصداقة عند "أرسطو"(384-322 ق م) و"أبيقور"(342-270 ق م)، فقد خص "أرسطو" فضيلة الصداقة بالتحليل الوافى في إطار تحليله للفضائل الأخلاقية لأهميتها الشديدة، ليس فقط على صعيد الإنسان الفرد وعلاقته بالآخرين، بل أيضا لأهميتها الشديدة في المجتمع . وقد أعطى "أبيقور" لمفهوم الصداقة أهمية كبيرة أيضا؛ حيث تعد الصداقة من أهم متطلبات الحياة السعيدة عند "أبيقور"، كما أنها تمثل المبدأ الذى ينظم الحياة والمجتمع . وعلى الرغم من اتفاق "أرسطو" و"أبيقور" على أهمية الصداقة، فإن نظرة كل منهما اختلفت حول الصداقة من حيث المبادئ والأهداف. وترمى هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد نقاط الاتفاق والاختلاف بين الفيلسوفين في نظريتهما للصداقة، وتفسير رأييهما في ظل شروط النظريات الأخلاقية الحديثة وإشكالياتها. وآمل من هذه الدراسة أن نفتح النقاش حول طبيعة العلاقة بين الصداقة والمفاهيم الأخلاقية الأخرى التى تدور في إطار مفهوم الصداقة لدى "أرسطو" و"أبيقور"، مما قد يسهم في تقديم بعض الفرضيات أو الحلول للمشكلات الأخلاقية التي يبحث فيها الفلاسفة المعاصرون . وتشمل الدارسة الراهنة على خمسة فصول ، ونعرض لها بإيجاز على النحو التالى. الفصل الأول بعنوان (الصداقة والمجتمع اليونانى القديم).
الفصل الثانى بعنوان (طبيعة الصداقة وشروطها بين أرسطو وأبيقور). الفصل الثالث بعنوان (الصداقة وحب الذات بين أرسطو وأبيقور). الفصل الرابع (بعنوان الصداقة والعدالة بين أرسطو وأبيقور).
الفصل الخامس (بعنوان الصداقة والسياسة بين أرسطو وأبيقور).

This study aims to compare the concept of friendship in the views of Aristotle (384-322 BC) and Epicurus (342-270 BC). Aristotle dedicated a thorough analysis to the virtue of friendship within his analysis of the ethical virtues due to its significant importance, not only on an individual level and one's relationship with others, but also its great importance in society. Epicurus also attached great importance to the concept of friendship; it is considered one of the essential requirements for a happy life according to him, and it represents the principle that governs life and society.Despite the agreement between Aristotle and Epicurus on the importance of friendship, their perspectives differed in terms of principles and goals. This study aims to identify the points of agreement and disagreement between the philosophers in their theories of friendship, and to interpret their opinions in light of the conditions of modern ethical theories and their problems. I hope that this study will open a discussion about the nature of the relationship between friendship and other ethical concepts that revolve around the concept of friendship in the views of Aristotle and Epicurus, which may contribute to presenting some hypotheses or solutions to the ethical problems that contemporary philosophers explore. The current study consists of five chapters, which will be briefly presented as follows. Chapter 1: Friendship and Ancient Greek Society. Chapter 2:The Nature and Conditions of Friendship between Aristotle and Epicurus. Chapter 3: Friendship and Self-Love between Aristotle and Epicurus.
Chapter 4: Friendship and Justice between Aristotle and Epicurus. Chapter 5: Friendship and Politics between Aristotle and Epicurus
