يدور موضوع الدراسة حول السياسة السعودية تجاه الصراع اليمني (عاصفة الحزم وتداعياتها)، والبحث في العوامل والمحددات والأهداف التي دفعت السعودية للخروج عن سلوكها المألوف في اليمن بصفة عامة وبعد ثورة فبراير بصفة خاصة وذلك عبر توظيف الأداة العسكرية على نحو مباشر في الشأن الداخلي اليمني للمرة الأولى. وترجع أهمية هذا الموضوع إلى حداثة فترة الدراسة، وتحليلها للسياسة السعودية تجاه اليمن وآثار عاصفة الحزم على مستوى الأمن القومي العربي والإقليمي والدولي، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن المصلحة الوطنية هي العنصر الحاسم في تحديد شكل وطبيعة السياسة السعودية تجاه اليمن، حيث تتحول تلك السياسة سلبًا وإيجابًا وفقًا لتغير المصالح والأولويات للمملكة العربية السعودية، وأن عاصفة الحزم نجحت بشكل كبير في منع سيطرة الحوثيين على اليمن بالكامل، ولكنها لم تنجح في إعادة الشرعية إلى السلطة في صنعاء.

This thesis examines the Saudi policy towards the Yemeni conflict (Decisive Storm and its repercussions), and investigates the factors, determinants and goals that prompted Saudi Arabia to deviate from its usual behavior in Yemen in general and after the February Revolution in particular, by employing the military tool directly in Yemeni internal affairs for the first time. The importance of this thesis is due to the recency of the study period, and its analysis of Saudi policy towards Yemen and the effects of Decisive Storm on the level of Arab, regional and international national security. The study concluded that the national interest is the decisive element in determining the form and nature of Saudi policy towards Yemen, as this policy changes negatively and positively according to the changing of interests and priorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and that Decisive Storm succeeded greatly in preventing the Houthis from taking control of Yemen completely, but it did not succeed in restoring legitimacy to power in Sanaa.
