تتناول هذه الدراسة الجملة المركبة في الرواية الأمهرية المعاصرة بالدراسة النظمية؛ حيث عرضت لمكونات الجملة المركبة وعناصرها الأساسية الثلاث من "روابط وعبارتين"، فحددت أدوات الربط المتنوعة وصنفتها وفقًا لوظيفتها داخل الجملة، ثمَّ أوضحت الروابط الأكثر شيوعًا والروابط الأقل شيوعًا واستخدامًا في الجملة المركبة في السياقات الأمهرية المختلفة. كذلك توصلت الباحثة إلى تحديد السمات التركيبية التي تتسم بها العناصر اللغوية في الجملة المركبة في جميع أنواعها من "رتبة وحذف وتوسعة". ثم بينت الدراسة أمثلة للجملة المركبة وفقًا لتقسيمات الروابط المستقاة من مادة الدراسة؛ من "الجمل ذات الروابط العطفية النسقية"، "الجمل ذات الروابط التلازمية"، "الجمل ذات روابط التعبيرات الانتقالية"، و"الجمل ذات العبارات المتجاورة وعلامات الترقيم" ليتم في الخاتمة تحديد بعض السمات العامة التي يمكن أن تتسم بها الجملة المركبة في الأمهرية. وتنقسم الدراسة إلى مقدمة وثلاثة فصول وخاتمة. حيث يتناول الفصل الأول الإطار النظري لمفهوم وسمات الجملة المركبة عند اللغويين، فيتناول كل من مفهوم الجملة والتركيب عند اللغويين، ثم ينتقل إلى أقسام الجملة من حيث البنية، لينتقل من خلال هذه النقطة إلى تناول مفهوم الجملة المركبة وسماتها التركيبية عند اللغويين العرب والغربيين إلى تناولها عند اللغويين الأمهريين. ثم يتم في الفصل الثاني تناول مكونات الجملة المركبة الأساسية في اللغة الأمهرية؛ من دراسة عنصر أدوات الربط وتسمياتها، وتصنيفاتها، ومعايير تقسيمها، انتقالًا إلى العبارة ومفهومها وأقسامها في الجملة الأمهرية المركبة، ويختم الفصل بتناول علاقة الاستقلالية النسبية التي تتسم بها العبارات المكونة للجملة المركبة. وأخيرًا يتناول الفصل الثالث التطبيق على أنواع الجملة المركبة في الأمهرية من حيث الوظيفة أو الأسلوب؛ فيُقسمها إلى جملة خبرية وإنشائية، يتناول الخبرية في صورتيها المثبتة والمنفية، ثم يركز على بعض صور الجملة المركبة الإنشائية الطلبية كالاستفهام والأمر والنهي لينتقل بعد ذلك لتناول السمات والظواهر التركيبية في الجملة المركبة في الأمهرية.

This study deals with the compound sentence in the contemporary Amharic novel through a syntactic approach. Where it presents the components of the compound sentence and its three basic elements of “conjunctions and two or more clauses,” its various conjunctions were identified and classified according to their function within the sentence. Then, the study clarified the most common conjunctions and the less common ones in this sentence in different Amharic contexts. They were followed by determining the turnover rate for each conjunction in the Amharic compound sentence. The researcher also identified the structural features that characterize the linguistic elements in the compound sentence in all its types, including “rank, deletion, and expansion”. Then, the study showed samples from the compound sentence according to the divisions of the conjunctions extracted from the study novels.The study is divided into an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter deals with the theoretical study of the concept and characteristics of the compound sentence according to linguists. It deals with both the concept of the sentence and the concept of structure. Then it moves to the sections of the sentence in terms of structure, moving from this point to deal with the concept of the compound sentence and its structural features according to Arab, Western linguists, and Amharic linguists. The second chapter deals with the basic components of the compound sentence in the Amharic language. From dealing with the conjunctions, their nomenclature, classifications, and criteria for dividing them, moving on to the clause, its concept, and its types in the Amharic compound sentence, the chapter concludes by addressing the relationship of relative independence which characterizes the clauses that construct the compound sentence. Finally, the third chapter deals with applying the division of Amharic compound sentence types in terms of function or style. It is divided into a declarative and a constructional sentence. It deals with the declarative in its affirmative and negative forms, then focuses on some forms of the constructional compound sentence, such as the interrogative, command, and prohibition. Then it deals with some syntactical characteristics of the Amharic compound sentence as “Rank”, “Ellipsis” and “Expansion”. Then, a conclusion with the results of the study.
