يهدف هذا البحث للوصول إلى منهجية تحليلية ومؤشرات تقييم لأداء محاور التنمية العمرانية وأقطاب النمو التابعة لها سواء المحلية أو الدولية ، وذلك عن طريق دراسة الأدبيات والدراسات والتجارب العالمية في إنشاء وتشغيل محاور التنمية العمرانية، وكذلك دراسة أقطاب نمو تابعة لها متميزة اقتصادياً وذلك لاستنباط مقومات النجاح ومعوقات التنمية والوصول لمؤشرات تقييم الأداء والوقوف على نقاط القوة والقصور. سيقوم الباحث في نهاية الدراسة بدراسة أحد محاور التنمية في مصر وهو محور الساحل الشمالى الغربى بجانب دراسة القطاعات التنموية والمدن الرئيسية على المحور التى قد تكون بمثابة أقطاب نمو وتقييمهم بأستخدام المؤشرات، وكذلك أعطاء توصيات للفرص المتاحة للتنمية ، بجانب دراسة إمكانية ربط المحور بمحاور دول الشمال الأفريقى المجاورة لخلق محور دولى يعزز التنمية الشاملة المرجوة .

a) he researcher believes that the development of urban development corridors will lead to the development of the growth poles and vice versa، as it is a direct and integrative process between movement and urbanization that must be placed within a comprehensive framework، and thus achieve comprehensive development that includes economic and social development and reduce overcrowding from Cairo and the Delta to the entire spatial spaces which are not fully exploited in Egypt. This research aims to reach a methodology for monitoring and analyzing the performance of urban development corridors and their relevant growth poles، whether local or international، by studying the literature، studies and global case studies in the establishment and operation of urban development corridors، as well as studying the relevant growth poles، in order to derive the elements of success and obstacles to development،in addition to know the performance indicators At the end of the study، the researcher will apply this methodology on one of the urban development corridors in Egypt، which is the Northwestern coast corridor، and study the development sectors and major cities on the corridor that may serve as growth poles، in order to evaluate their performance، as well as give recommendations for available opportunities for development، as well as studying the possibility of linking the corridor with the adjacent corridors of the North African countries to create an international corridor that enhances the desired comprehensive development.The importance of the study is for developing a methodology for evaluating the performance of urban development corridors as well as relevant growth poles that help all interested and decision-makers in this regard for the desired comprehensive development، as well as providing a theoretical framework for researchers interested in these points.
