Summary: This study aimed to explore the motivations behind using the Telegram application among Egyptian youth and to analyze the gratifications derived from such use. Additionally, the study investigated the impact of variables such as usage frequency, level of dependence, and degree of experience on the relationship between motivations and gratifications. To achieve these objectives, a survey-based methodology was employed, using a field survey that included a purposive sample of 392 young Egyptian males and females aged between 18 and 35 who are Telegram users. The study relied on a specifically designed questionnaire to survey the opinions of Egyptian youth who use the application. The results led to a set of significant conclusions, most notably:  The majority of respondents preferred entertainment channels on the application, with a rate of 48%, followed by educational channels at 31.4%.  Most respondents use the Telegram application to share large files and media, at a rate of 79%, with the second most popular use being to watch exclusive movies and series with a relative weight of 75.9%. Lastly, 47.4% of the sample use Telegram for medical consultations.  In terms of cognitive gratifications, the highest-rated benefit was assistance in downloading books and volumes, with a relative weight of 71.4%, while the least was the satisfaction of increasing knowledge about the gold exchange, at a relative weight of 57.0%.  Regarding behavioral impacts, the ability to interact with certain instructors on their channels ranked first with a relative weight of 69.5%, while the lowest was the possibility of changing travel dates due to weather conditions, with a relative weight of 58.2%.
