Dissertation note: أطروحة (دكتوراه)-جامعة القاهرة، 2024 Summary: تتضمن الرسالة ثلاث فصول تتناول دراسة ميدانية لعدد من الكتب بأحد مخازن الهيئة العامة لدار الكتب والوثائق القومية، وكذلك 56 كتاب نادر بمكتبة مجلس النواب المصري. ودراسة تجريبية لتقييم فاعلية استخدام بعض المواد المركبة متعددة الوظائف في علاج وصيانة المقتنيات الورقية مع مراعاة تحقق أكثر من وظيفة وهي: (معادلة حموضة الورق وترك راسب قلوي كافي؛ التقوية؛ تثبيط التلف الميكروبيولوجي) في مرحلة واحدة من المعالجة، ويتم تقييم المواد المركبة المختارة في الدراسة على عينات مختلفة من الورق باستخدام طرق الفحص والتحليل العلمية. وأخيرا تم إجراء الجانب التطبيقي علي كتاب مخطوط قبطي من القرن 18 يعاني من الحموضة المرتفعة والإصابة الفطرية وضعف الخواص الميكانيكية، وذلك من خلال اتباع الطرق العلمية للترميم والصيانةSummary: This thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter “A field study to conduct environmental and physical condition assessments of the books collections in two Egyptian libraries” This chapter is concerned with study collections condition and environmental control systems in order to evaluate needs for preservation. The second Chapter “The Experimental Study” is concerned with the Evaluation of 8 multifunctional composites for Paper conservation, in order to demonstrate the efficacy of the multifunctional nanocomposite and the performance of treated and untreated paper, examinations and scientific analyses have been conducted. The third chapter “Treatment and Conservation” is concerned with the practical application of the treatment and conservation on Coptic religious manuscript date back to 18th century – special collection.
