Summary: يستعرض البحث تطوير الفراغات المهجورة وربط الفرص الجديدة التي توفرها هذه المناطق بالتنمية الحضرية الإبداعية والمستدامة للواجهات المائية من خلال توفير التكامل بين الواجهه المائية والمدينة ودمج هذه الفراغات مره أخرى مع النسيج الحضرى. يمكن أن تشكل المناطق المهجورة على الواجهات المائية المكان الأساسي للتنمية المستدامة للنظام الحضري بأكمله، فإن هذه الفراغات لديها القدرة على التحول من الأراضي غير المستغلة بالكامل إلى أحياء الواجهة البحرية الحضرية النابضة بالحياة. يهدف هذا البحث إلى الوصول الى المبادئ الرئيسية لتطوير هذه الفراغات وفقا للمبادئ الرئيسية للتنمية المستدامة وتتضمن تحقيق افضل استغلال لهذه الفراغات بما يليق بخصوصية الموقع ويلائم تميزة من الناحية الوظيفية والبصرية ويوفر الوصول العام للواجهات المائية مع الحفاظ على الهوية العمرانية. وينتهي البحث باستنتاجات وتوصيات تتعلق بتطوير الفراغات المهجورة والغير مستغلة على الواجهات المائية ، والتي يمكن أن توفر الفرصة للترويج لمشاريع تطوير الواجهات المائية المستدامة .Summary: The research reviews the development of waterfront brownfield and linking the new opportunities offered by these areas to the creative and sustainable urban development of waterfronts by providing integration between the waterfront and the city and integrating these spaces again with the urban fabric. Abandoned waterfront areas can be the primary setting for the sustainable development of an entire urban system, these spaces have the potential to transform from underutilized land to vibrant urban waterfront neighborhoods. This research aims to reach the main principles for the development of these spaces in accordance with the main principles of sustainable development and includes making the best use of these spaces in a manner that suits the specificity of the site and suits its functional and visual distinction and provides public access to the waterfronts while preserving the urban identity. The research ends with conclusions and recommendations related to the development of abandoned spaces “Brownfields” on waterfronts, which can provide an opportunity to promote sustainable waterfront development projects.
