جاء تدخُّل حزب الله في الصراع السوري في ضوء الارتباط الأيديولوجي والجغرافي والأبعاد السياسية والعسكرية المشتركة لطرفَي محور المقاومة (سوريا – إيران). وقد وَظَّف ذلك الصراع لخدمة مصالحه السياسية داخل الساحة السياسية اللبنانية، وكذلك عمل على تطوير مشروع المقاومة الذي يتبناه، وتغيير استراتيجية المواجهة مع إسرائيل عبر الصراعات المفتوحة العابرة للحدود الوطنية. وقد عزَّز بانخراطه -إلى جانب العوامل الأخرى كالدعم الروسي- من وضع النظام السوري، وساهم بصورة كبيرة بفضل المشاركة في المعارك الاستراتيجية داخل المدن السورية الكبرى في إعادة توازن القوى ميدانيًّا منذ عام 2013 حتى تحول إلى سيطرة شبه كاملة على الأراضي السورية كافة. وقد تسبب "حزب الله" في تغييرات طائفية ديمغرافية في سوريا، ساهمت -في نهاية المطاف- في تمكين الوجود الشيعي، وهذا التدخل أثٌر على العلاقات السورية الإقليمية والدولية وكذلك على وضعية حزب الله بصورة عامة.

Hezbollah's intervention in the Syrian conflict came in light of the ideological and geographical linkage and the common political and military dimensions of the two parties to the axis of resistance (Syria and Iran). Hezbollah has used this conflict to serve its political interests within the Lebanese political arena, to develop its resistance project, and to change the strategy of confrontation with Israel through open transnational conflicts. Through its involvement, along with other factors such as Russian support, it has strengthened the position of the Syrian regime. It has contributed significantly thanks to participation in strategic battles inside major Syrian cities in rebalancing power on the ground since 2013 until it turned into almost complete control over all Syrian territory. Hezbollah has caused sectarian demographic changes in Syria, which ultimately contributed to the empowerment of the Shiite presence, and this intervention affected Syria's regional and international relations as well as Hezbollah's status in general.
