This study aims to isolate the capsular (Vi) polysaccharide of S. typhi from locally isolated S. typhi strains where stool specimens were obtained from 73 patients clinically suspected of enteric fever . Twenty - six isolates showed the Salmonella typhi characteristics according to colony morphology on the selective media as S - S & XLD agar and Biochemical reaction as TSI and Urease test
