A growing evidence suggests that metabolic syndrome(MetS) is an important risk factor for coronary artery disease(CAD), and its is markedly increasing especially in yong age. We studied its prevalence in young patients with acute coronry syndrome(ACS) and its impact on severity of coronry artery disease by applying a recent scoring system known as SYNTAX score on the results of coronary angiography which was done for all the patients. MetS prevalence was high among young patients with ACS, and it was strongly correlated with severity of the disease
