Wide beams are frequently used as transfer elements where the total structural depth must be kept to a minimum. The objective of this research was to study the influence of member width,longitudinal and transverse spacing of stirrups, volumetric ratio of stirrups, and shear-span-to depth ratio on the shear behavior of reinforced concrete wide beams, and to check the adequacy of current codes procedures for designing reinforcement concrete wide beams
