Background: Empowering caregivers’ adherence to therapeutic regimen after children kidney transplantation play role in graft survival and improving quality of life of children and their families. Aim of the study: To evaluate the effect of empowerment program on caregivers' adherence to therapeutic regimen of their children after kidney transplantation. Design: Quasi-experimental design. Sample: A convenient sample consisted of 60 caregivers of children aged ranges from 6-18 years divided equally into two groups; study and control. Setting: The study was carried out at the kidney transplantation outpatient clinic at Al-Monira Pediatric Hospital which affiliated to Cairo-University. Tools for data collection: Data collected using five tools including structured interview questionnaire, caregivers' adherence to therapeutic regimen and its related knowledge, observational checklist (oral medications, hand wash, oral care, skin care, and care of fever), laboratory investigations record and self-efficacy scale. Results: The mean age of children among study and control groups were thirteen years and more, the majority of caregivers were children’s mothers, less than three fifths of children had less than two years duration after kidney transplantation, all children were hospitalized after kidney transplantation due to abnormal laboratory investigations. After the program the caregivers total mean scores of knowledges, practices, self-efficacy, and adherence among the study group improved in posttest and follow-up than before. Also, significant positive correlation was detected between them Conclusion: The current study concluded that, the empowerment program improves significantly the total scores of caregivers’ knowledge, practices, self-efficacy and the adherence to therapeutic regimens. Recommendation: It was recommended that to integrate the empowerment program for caregivers to the routine care of children post kidney transplantation.

تمكين مقدمي الرعاية للالتزام بالنظام العلاجي بعد زراعة الكلى للأطفال يلعب دورا في بقاء الكلي المزروعة و تحسين نوعية حياة الأطفال وأسرهم. الهدف تقييم تأثير برنامج للتمكين على الإلتزام بالنظام العلاجي لمقدمي الرعاية لأطفالهم بعد زراعة الكلي.التصميم: تم استخدام تصميم شبه تجريبي لتحقيق هدف الدراسة الحالية. العينة: عينة مناسبة تكونت من 60 من مقدمي الرعاية لأطفال تتراوح أعمارهم بين 6-18 سنة مقسمين بالتساوي إلى مجموعتين؛ الدراسة والضابطة. المكان: العيادة الخارجية لمتابعة الأطفال بعد زرع الكلى بمستشفى المنيرة الجامعي للأطفال، التابعة لمستشفيات جامعة القاهرة.. الادوات : الأداة الأولى . إستمارة مقابلة سابقة الإعداد.الأداة الثانية . استمارة لتقييم الإلتزام ومعرفة مقدمي الرعاية بالنظام العلاجي.الأداة الثالثة . قائمة ملاحظات لتقييم ممارسات مقدمي الرعاية.الأداة الرابعة . استمارة تسجيل التحاليل المعملية الاداه الخامسة .مقياس الكفاءة الذاتية .النتائج: كان متوسط عمر الأطفال بين مجموعات الدراسة والمجموعة الضابطة ثلاثة عشر عامًا وأكثر، وكانت غالبية مقدمي الرعاية من أمهات الأطفال، وكان أقل من ثلاثة أخماس الأطفال قد قضوا أقل من عامين بعد زراعة الكلى. بعد البرنامج، تحسن إجمالي متوسط درجات مقدمي الرعاية في المعرفة والممارسات والكفاءة الذاتية والالتزام بين مجموعة الدراسة في الاختبار البعدي والمتابعة. الخلاصة: خلصت الدراسة الحالية إلى أن برنامج التمكين حسن بشكل ذو دلالة إحصائية الدرجات الإجمالية لإلتزام مقدمي الرعاية بالأنظمة العلاجية لأطفالهم وكذلك معلومات و ممارسات و الكفاءة الذاتية لديهم. التوصيات: تمت التوصية بدمج برنامج تمكين مقدمي الرعاية في الرعاية الروتينية للأطفال بعد زراعة الكلى.
