The purpose of this study is to conduct a survey to identify the degree of the job satisfaction among the mass communication academic staff in the Egyptian universities, to determine the factors affecting their job satisfaction and to explore the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance of the mass communication academic staff. This study also aims to identify the job satisfaction criteria and investigate the demographic variables that influence the job satisfaction and job performance of the mass communication academic staff. The importance of this research contributes to studying the job satisfaction as being an important factor influencing any successful organization, or any organization that places success in the list of its priorities. Besides, the significance of this study is being related to the opinion makers in this country; the academic staff in the mass communication colleges in the Egyptian universities, who set the agenda for the future generations who are the nucleus of this community and the backbone of this nation. Four research questions directed this study. Five Hypotheses were tested. Three hundred mass communication academic staff members were randomly assigned as participants and represented all 16 Egyptian universities; governmental and private
