Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Summary: This study was conducted to compare implant stability between grafted and non-grafted sinus lifting. In this study 18 implants (10 implants in grafted sinus and 8 implants in non-grafted sinus) were placed for 12 patients with atrophied posterior maxillary region and/or excessively pneumatized maxillary sinus. Subjects and Methods: Upon follow-up of the sinus elevation the implant stability was measured using the resonance frequency analysis by the Osstell device. In all 12 patients implants placed immediately after the lateral approach procedure to create a maxillary sinus lift, no patients developed sinusitis or other complications leading to loss of an implant subsequent to performance of the sinus lifting-combined immediate implant surgery. Results: All 18 fixtures healed well, no infection &/or implant mobility was observed on initiation of loading force from the prosthetic components. follow up included implant stability measurement immediately at time of implant placement (T0) , six months after implant placement (T1) (at time of loading) and after three months after loading (T2)
