ملاحظة الأطروحة: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Radio-diagnosis ملخص: Parotid, submandibular, and sublingual glands are the major paired salivary glands of the body acting on the first step of the digestion process. Problems of salivary gland are quite common in people of all age groups. Clinical examination alone is not able to differentiate between the true nature, location, extent and exact cause of such lesions, as they are not visible to naked eye. The aim of this study is to correlate between ultrasound and CT in evaluation of salivary glands lesions. We prospectively evaluated thirty eight patients with the salivary glands lesions at the radiology department of kasralainy, menoufia university hospitals and Ashmoun general hospital during the period from October 2019 to March 2021. The results of this study showed that there was non-significant difference between primary and final diagnosis of salivary gland lesion by US and CT in term of Salivary gland lesion p value =0.987 (>0.05).Ultrasound is currently the most useful technique for salivary gland imaging. The glands are routinely evaluated for their size, shape as well as echogenicity and potential focal lesions. Although ultrasound is the first-line imaging tool for salivary gland imaging, it has frequently been combined to contrast-enhanced CT for localizing a deeper lesion and detecting sialolithiasis or metastatic lymph node
