تدرس الرسالة مفهوم العقلانية التجريبية الذي يعبر عن جوهر المنهج العلمي من منظور الإبستمولوجيا الاجتماعية التي نشأت في الربع الأخير من القرن العشرين. وتتميز الإبستمولوجيا الاجتماعية بأنها إبستمولوجيا لا أسسية ترفض الطابع القبلي المنفصل عن العلوم التجريبية الوصفية، وأنها اجتماعية ترفض مركزية العارف الفرد التي هيمنت على الإبستمولوجيا الكلاسيكية. وتتحرك الدراسة عبر مستويين: مستوى عام كلي يهدف إلى كشف البنية المفاهيمية للإبستمولوجيا الاجتماعية، وتنتقل بعد ذلك إلى مستوى أضيق مصغر تكشف فيه عن الطابع الاجتماعي لممارسات العقلانية التجريبية، أي تطبيق مفاهيم الإبستمولوجيا الاجتماعية على العناصر الأساسية المنتجة للمعرفة العلمية مثل الاستدلال والملاحظة. وبالتالي فإن الدراسة تتحرك من سؤال عام: كيف تكون الإبستمولوجيا اجتماعية؟ إلى سؤال خاص: كيف تكون ممارسات العقلانية التجريبية ممارسات اجتماعية في جوهرها؟ وتمثلت التيمة المحركة للدراسة في مفهومي الاجتماعي والمعياري وهو ما ساعد في تحقيق هدف البحث: أولًا فهم البنية المفاهيمية للإبستمولوجيا الاجتماعية وثانيًا الكشف عن الطابع الاجتماعي لممارسات العقلانية التجريبية التي تمثل جوهر المنهج العلمي.

This thesis examines the concept of empirical rationalism, which represents the core of the scientific method, according to social epistemology that emerged in the last quarter of the 20th century. Social epistemology is characterized by anti-foundationalism, rejecting a priori assumptions detached from empirical sciences. It also emphasizes a social perspective, opposing the focus on the individual knower that dominated classical epistemology. The study operates on two levels: a broad, overarching level that aims to reveal the conceptual structure of social epistemology, followed by a more specific, focused level that exposes the social nature of empirical rationalism practices. This involves applying concepts from social epistemology to fundamental elements in knowledge productive practices, such as reasoning and observation. Thus, the study progresses from a general question: How can epistemology be social? to a specific question: How are the practices of empirical rationalism inherently social? The study’s central theme revolves around the concepts of the "social" and the "normative" which helps achieve the research objectives: first, understanding the conceptual structure of social epistemology; and second, uncovering the social dimension of empirical rationalism practices, which constitute the essence of the scientific method.
