Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Organic Chemistry Summary: This work has been carried out to investigate the chemical reactivity and synthetic potentiality of bis cyanoacetohydrazide 3 and bis cyanoacetamide 33a,b derivatives via their reactions with several aldehydes to give the bis yeildene and bis coumarin derivatives. The bis yeildene reacted with active methylene containing compounds or hydrazine hydrate to afford the corresponding bis pyridone and bis pyrazole derivatives respectively
