Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Power Engineering Summary: This thesis presents a new approach design of a renewable micro-energy supply system which is considered to be the optimum sustainable solution for supplying electricity to remote off-grid areas. The design is based on the integration of renewable micro-energy systems with product - service systems using communication and information technology, which allows the ability to remotely monitor and intervene to protect the system from customer{u2019}s misuse. This will increase system components life span and achieve customers{u2019} needs. The system design is based on automatic collection of operating data via mobile wireless network to a central database. At the remote central server, the operation data is analyzed. According to the results, the customer profile and system performance can be determined, as well as the system{u2019}s need for service
