Numerous studies have demonstrated that high blood pressure substantially increases the risk of microvascular and macrovascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus . Currently, serum resistin, an adipocyte - and monocyte - derived cytokine, was positively correlated with several components of the metabolic syndrome, including hypertension in type 2 diabetes mellitus
