Electronic support reconnaissance systems are the eyes and ears of the electronic warfare effort, in that electronic support is responsible for the detection, interception, processing, analysis, and identification of electromagnetic energy transmitted by hostile, friendly and neutral radar systems. The main objective of electronic support is to gain sufficient information about radar sensors to allow an understanding of the radar{u2019}s characteristics including its role, its method of operation, its strengths and weaknesses, and how it can be encountered. Frequency agility is a very powerful technique utilized by modern radar emitters to provide protection from being easily intercepted, successfully identified and jammed by hostile jamming means. The application, the purpose, and the environmental electronic signal density play key roles in the design of a radar intercept system, since they establish most of the operational requirements under which the system will be developed
