Endometriosis affects at least 10% of the female population in their reproductive age and it is characterized by the presence of endometrial gland and stroma outside the uterus. It is associated with pelvic pain and infertility . HOXA10 is homeobox genes that mediate embryonic development including the development of the reproductive tract. HOXA10 gene expression possibly regulates the growth and development of the human endometrium. This study include 60 patients undergoing hysterectomy for bleeding and pain. Forty patients had endometriosis and 20 patients without endometriosis. By immunohistochemistry HOXA 10 expression was markedly lower in women with endometriosis compared to healthy women. With sensitivity 100%, specificity 100%, PPV 100%, NPV 100%
