This thesis describes an analytical study on some selected carboxylic acid derivatives which are linezolid and imidapril hydrochloride in presence of their laboratory prepared degradation products obtained via hydrolysis and oxidation. Preparation and structural elucidation of their possible degradation products using IR and MS analyses are discussed. This thesis includes three parts and an appendix which includes a brief idea about the instruments, chemicals, samples and detailed preparation of the solutions used throughout this work. The aim of this work is to develop potential, reliable, fast and efficient stability indicating assay methods which are capable of determining the studied drugs in presence of their respective degradation products
