Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Department of Anatomy and Embryology
The present study was to investigate the difference in the reproductive tract anatomy of viviparous fish, (Molly) of family Poecillidae and oviparous fish, (Goldfish) of family cyprinidae. This thesis reports on the morphological and histological aspects of the ovarian development in the goldfish and molly. investigating some reproductive traits such as, ovary size, shape, maturity and its stages and the anatomical details of maternal-fetal interaction during embryonic development which are fundamental to understand how these traits should be adapted to maximize reproductive success in a particular environment., however literature available upon ornamental fishes is scarce, so studying such traits will give basic data to the culturist of these fishes
