From a total of 660 ostrich chicks ranged from one day to 3 months of age out of 2000 ostrich bird from a large ostrich farm in Egypt from January 2010 to May 2010. 275 dead chicks and 385 diseased chicks were examined. 285 cloacal swabs from diseased ostrich chicks revealed that, 21 out of 285 (7.4%) positive for E. coli, 5 out of 285 (1.8%) were positive for salmonella kentucky n=3 1.05%
