This study showed that hepatocyte-dependant functions of the liver were depressed following carbon dioxide pneumoperitonum in laparoscopic cholecystectomy , as manifested by changes of all parameter studied. Intra-abdominal hypertension, hypercapnia, and the head up position seem to be the most important players
