Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Engineering - Department Of Electrical Power and Machines
Researches in the area of gas insulated systems reliability are still attracting a considerable attention from the public and the scientific community in many countriesSolid insulating spacers in GIS represent the weakest points in these systems , and several troubles and systems' outages have been reported allover the world due to their failureSo it is essential to determine the electric field distribution along their surfaces and hence evaluate the degree of their reliabilityThis thesis evaluates the electric field distribution on the spacers' surfaces in gas insulated systems using the finite element method
