520	3		_aThe study meticulously examines the ground-floor activities in Zamalek and Heliopolis (Motaza division), shedding light on their physical and economic features. The research provides an empirical diagnostic of urban characteristics for both neighborhoods through comprehensive field surveys, assemblage-thinking, mapping, indexing and measuring imbalances both neighborhoods through MXI and Entropy. The study also introduces a preliminary novel approach, a threshold indicator tool for detecting saturation of mixed-use activities by detecting relationship between closed shops phenomenon and entropy and FSI.
520	3		_aتتعمق هذه الأطروحة في تحويل اثنتين من ضواحي القاهرة التي كانت ذات يوم مجتمعات حدائقية إلى مجتمعات صاخبة متعددة الإستخدامات. تدرس الدراسة بدقة أنشطة الطابق الأرضي في الزمالك ومصر الجديدة (قسم المنتزلة)، وتسلط الضوء على خصائصها المادية والإقتصادية. من خلال نهج شامل يتضمن المسوحات الميدانية من خلال التفكير التجميعي ورسم الخرائط والفهرسة وقياس الإختلالات و يوفر البحث تشخيصا تجريبيا للخصائص الحضرية لكلا الحيين. تقدم الدراسة نهجا أوليا أداة مؤشر حدية للكشف عن تشبع الأنشطة متعددة الإستخدامات ، من خلال تحليل العلاقة الحالية بين ظاهرة المتاجر المغلقة و الأنتروبى و الكثافة البنائية. وهذه النتائج بمثابة أداة قيمة للمخططين الحضريين والبلديات، وتقدم إرشادات للنمو المستقبلي في الأحياء القديمة في القاهرة.
