520		3	_aBackground: PMS refers to a group of menstrually related disorders that are estimated to affect up to 40% of women of childbearing age. Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) reduce psychological and physical symptoms of PMS. Purpose: to determine the effect of TENS on acupoints in PMS. Methods: fifty virgin adolescent females suffering from premenstrual syndrome aged from 18 to 25 years old, their BMI ranged from 25 to 30 kg\m2 , and all of them had regular menstrual cycle (28 to 35) days were selected from the outpatient clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics of Talkha Central Hospital, Dakahlia, Egypt. They were divided randomly into two groups equal in number. Study group (A) (n= 25) received TENS on neurogenic acupoints daily, 3 days before menstruation to the 4th day of menstruation for 3 consequent menstrual cycles, 7 sessions per month with duration of 40 min each session, for 3 months, in addition to life style modification advice, and control group (B) (n= 25) received TENS on sham acupoints daily, 7 sessions per month with duration of 40 min for each session, for 3 months, in addition to the same advice as in group (A). Pain intensity and severity of PMS symptoms were assessed at the beginning and at the end of treatment for all participants in both groups (A&B) using Visual analogue scale and Menstrual Distress Questionnaire. Results: showed that there were a statistical significant decrease in the mean values of pain intensity and severity of PMS symptoms post treatment in both groups (A&B). Also, it showed a statistical significant decrease between both groups post treatment in favor of group (A) (p = 0.001). Conclusion: It could be concluded that receiving TENS on acupoints had significant effect in alleviating pain and severity of PMS symptoms, in adolescent females.
520		3	_aالخلفية: تشير متلازمة ما قبل الطمث إلى مجموعة من الاضطرابات المرتبطة بالدورة الشهرية والتي من المقدر أن تؤثر على ما يصل إلى ٤٠٪ من النساء في سن الإنجاب. يؤدى استخدام التنبيه الكهربى للعصب الحسي عبر الجلد الى تقليل اعراض متلازمة ما قبل الطمث النفسية والجسدية. الغرض: اجريت هذه الدراسة لتحديد تأثير التنبيه الكهربى للعصب الحسي عبر الجلد على نقط الوخز فى متلازمة ما قبل الطمث. الطريقة: تم اختيار خمسين فتاه مراهقه تعاني من متلازمة ما قبل الطمث تراوحت أعمارهن ما بين ١٨ إلى ٢٥ سنة وتراوح مؤشر كتلة الجسم لديهن من ٢٥ إلى ٣٠ كجم\م2 من العيادة الخارجية لأمراض النساء والتوليد بمستشفى طلخا المركزي، الدقهلية، مصر. وقد تم تقسيمهن عشوائياً إلى مجموعتين متساويتين في العدد. المجموعة (أ) (العدد=٢٥): تلقت التنبيه الكهربى للعصب الحسي عبر الجلد على نقاط الوخز المحددة على سطح الجسم يوميًا قبل ٣ أيام حتى اليوم الرابع من الطمث لمدة ٣ دورات شهرية متتالية بمعدل ٧ جلسات شهريًا لمدة ٤٠ دقيقة لكل جلسة، لمدة ثلاثه شهور، بالإضافة إلى نصائح لتعديل نمط الحياة، بينما تلقت المجموعة (ب) (العدد=٢٥) التنبيه الكهربى للعصب الحسي عبر الجلد على نقاط الوخز الوهمية المحددة على سطح الجسم يومياً بمعدل ٧ جلسات شهرياً لمدة ٤٠ دقيقة لكل جلسة، لمده ثلاثة شهور، بالإضافة إلى اتباع نفس النصائح كما في المجموعة (أ). تم تقييم شدة الألم وشدة أعراض ما قبل الطمث قبل بدايه الدراسه وفى نهايتها لجميع المشاركات في كلتا المجموعتين (أ وب) باستخدام مقياس التناظرية البصرية واستبيان متلازمة ما قبل الطمث. النتائج: وقد أظهرت نتائج هذه الدراسة أن هناك انخفاضا ذا دلالة إحصائية في متوسط قيم شدة الألم وشدة أعراض متلازمة ما قبل الطمث بعد العلاج في كلتا المجموعتين (أ & ب). ايضا قد أظهرت انخفاضاً ذا دلالة إحصائية بين المجموعتين بعد العلاج لصالح المجموعة(أ) (٠,٠٠١ (p=ومن هنا يمكن أن نستنتج أن تلقى التنبيه الكهربى للعصب الحسي عبر الجلد على نقط الوخز كان له تأثير كبير فى تخفيف الألم وشدة أعراض متلازمة ما قبل الطمث لدى الاناث المراهقات
