| 520 | 3 | _aThis study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness-based intervention programs on anxiety and resilience among nursing students. Setting: The study conducted at the Department of Nursing, Al-Quds University in Palestine. Design: A quasi- experimental pre-and post-test group was used. Sample: A stratified random sample consists of 100 nursing students. Tools: Three tools used for data collection including (1) a Socio-demographic and academic characterization sheet, (2) a Beck anxiety inventory, and (3) The adolescent resilience questionnaire. Results: There was an improvement in resilience among nursing students who attended mindfulness-based intervention program ( pre and post). After three months of follow-up, the percentage of students with moderate and high levels was changed to (3% & 96%). There was an improvement in anxiety among nursing students who attended the mindfulness program the percentage of students with mild levels of anxiety in pre- test was 16% which increased in post-test to 100% and 100% after three months follow-up. The percentage of nursing students with moderate levels of anxiety in pre-test was 78% which decreased in post-test to 0% and 0% after three months of follow-up. There was a highly significant negative correlation between resilience and anxiety among nursing students at (r=-0.59 and p= 0.00). Conclusions: The mindfulness-based intervention program had a positive effect on improving resilience and reducing anxiety among nursing students. Recommendations: Design a psychoeducational program to be used as an effective, low-cost, and noninvasive intervention to improve the mental health and overall well-being of nursing students. | |
