520		3	_aExtra-articular distal radius fractures are common injuries among the elderly, typically resulting from low-energy trauma such as falling from standing height due to osteoporosis. Multiple treatment modalities are available for managing these fractures; our comparative study between cast and volar locked plate has demonstrated no significant differences in functional outcomes at six months post-injury due to reduced functional demands of the elderly population in their activities of daily living.
