520 3 _aBackground: Sleeve gastrectomy is a widely performed bariatric procedure, but postoperative staple line leakage remains a significant complication, leading to increased morbidity and healthcare costs. Various techniques have been explored to reinforce the staple line, yet an optimal solution remains elusive. nebulized cyanoacrylate glue , a novel surgical adhesive, has shown promise in preliminary studies for its ability to enhance tissue sealing and reduce complications. Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of nebulized cyanoacrylate glue in reinforcing the staple line during sleeve gastrectomy and its impact on reducing postoperative leakage rates. Additionally, it seeks to assess its influence on operative time, length of hospital stay, and overall postoperative complications. Methods: A prospective Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial was conducted involving 70 patients undergoing sleeve gastrectomy. Participants were divided into two equal groups: one without staple line reinforcement and the other utilizing nebulized cyanoacrylate glue in reinforcement of staple line. Data were collected on intraoperative parameters, postoperative leakage rates, hospital stay duration, and other complications. Statistical analysis was performed to compare outcomes between the two groups. Results: The nebulized cyanoacrylate glue group demonstrated a statistically no significant reduction in postoperative staple line leakage rates compared to the Non reinforcement group. The findings suggest that the choice between two methods does not significantly impact the incidence of leakage. Conclusion: No statistically difference in post-operative leakage rate between the glue-reinforced and non-reinforced groups. Both groups have similar outcomes in terms of bleeding, hospital stay duration, and readmission rates. These findings suggest that glue reinforcement of staple line does not provide a significant advantage in preventing staple line leakage over non-reinforcement.
520 3 _aتعد جراحة تكميم المعدة من اقصر عمليات السمنه انتشارا. المضاعفات ما بعد عمليات السمنة ومنها جراحة تكميم المعدة تؤثر بشكل كبير على صحة المريض وكذلك عبئا على المنظومة الصحية. وسائل مختلفة تم اقتراحها لتقوية حواف المعدة المكممة لتقليل التسريب ما بعد الجراحة ولكن ما زالت هذه الوسائل تحت الدراسة حتى يتم الوصول لحل مناسب لتقليل التسريب. يعتبر الصمغ الجراحى من احدى هذه الوسائل التى يتم دراستها الان بعد ما اظهر فاعليته على بعض الجروح. وتهدف هذه الدراسة الى معرفة مدى تأثير الضمغ الجراحى على تقليل حالات المعدة المقننة وتوضح مدى تأثيره على تقليل نسبة التسريب بعد عمليات التكميم
